B-sides wedding photography

I sometimes post so much and sometimes post so little. We try so many absurd ideas that some of them will never see the light of day…and then I thought some of them might make for some good b-side photography. Like Lost Dogs, sometimes the stuff that never makes it can be some of your...

Angie + Ryan. Westin Nova Scotian Wedding.

I’ve shot weddings in hurricanes and I’ve shot weddings on interesting dates like 10.10.10. I’ve shot weddings in the snow and I’ve shot em in the rain but I’ve NEVER shot a wedding on a day the world was supposed to end…until last Saturday. Angie + Ryan live in Hong Kong so I hadn’t had...

Emma Rose - Is the bet done? I think B has a stronger composition, the fence leads to the subjects and the subjects are more engaged… So that’s my choice but I like the colours and sharpness of A.

Rob - “B” is beautiful But “A” is Better

Norma Peddle - OK……who won???? And: where are you???? No new posts in ages!!

tenzin gyatso - eh?

Telle - A looks like jewels sparkling on the bottom of her dress.

Justin - A is more dramatic even though the objects on the sides of the picture distract the eye a little.

Heather Crosby Gionet - Im going with option B.

Martha - A for me. It says “let’s take on the big wide world together” to me. I’m not feeling the chain link fence in B.

B - Definitely A, it has an eerie quality to it that gives me the chills!

Julie - B – Captured the essence of love!!

Jeff H - B, but both great.

Nicole - B !!

Allie - A for sure!

Erin Woodgate - B, i just like the composition more :)

Ash - B!

Guest - ‘A’ is very mysterious, tells a story, LOVE IT. Both are beautiful though.

Gues - Love%20them%20both%2C%20A%20is%20a%20little%20more%20mysterious%20!%20%20I%20choose%20′A’

Courtney - B!

Christine - B for sure!

candee - A

Guest - B

Jen Polson - I like A. The intensity in the sky with the lighting illuminating their hair and outline. It’s a strong photograph, dramatic. Both well done, tough decision.

Mandy - A

Norma Peddle - A (although I love both).

C. Reid - B.

Julie + Steve.

the evolution of a shoe shot

I was watching a social media discussion online last week and an interesting point was brought up about getting your stuff ‘out there’ and just how ‘out there’ was too much? Did you see the episode of The Office when they tried to create WUPHF.com? A program where, in an attempt to reach someone, you...

James + Kitty

There’s nothing I love more than a Giacomantonio wedding. Last year I shot for James’ brother and his wife, Chris + Rachel, in an awesome little backyard ceremony w Jenn Grant singing on the patio. Its nothing but love and laughter when you’re around these families and I knew that James + Kathryn’s wedding would...

tenzin gyatso - mmm….i can smell the peat.

Laurie - They’re totally beautiful and unique. A fabulous and very happy day captured perfectly!

Tara - As always, I love the creative shots that you come up with. The pink shoes dancing outside, the car shot, the fountain with rings. Exquisite!

You are like a hurricane. There’s calm in your eye.

this is quite possibly my longest wedding blog post ever. I’ve tried the slideshows, the little thumbnails….and i have to be honest with you, I like to keep it simple. This was just one of those weddings that could have gone so wrong but instead went oh so right. Pin it

Wedding Photography all week long. Day II

I’ve been plotting this shot for 2 years but the circumstances just never let it happen. I even asked one bride and her bridesmaid that we ran into down on the Halifax waterfront, “Hey I have an idea for 2 arm wrestling brides. Can I buy you a beer and we’ll grab a shot?” blank...
