I’ve found too many reasons not to do a fun shoot lately; real work came first, no time, the last idea was a huge fucking disaster…and so on. That hasn’t gotten me very far so we’d like to try and have some fun with something thats been calling to me for years now. We’ll make the […]
Jaime was the MOST relaxed bride I have ever photographed. That’s right, THE MOST. She let almost everything be decided by someone else. Seriously. She let a small child choose her gown (don’t worry it was from BHLDN!), her groom chose her shoes, her decorator did the decor, her mother chose her earrings. She didn’t go […]
We met up at 5.30pm in the parking lot of a Christian Academy and drank beer. I can’t think of a better way to start a trash the dress shoot. I knew the sun set at 9pm and everything was planned to have Elaine + Ambrose standing on water by about 8pm and then swimming […]
When Natalie’s mother said to her after the ceremony that it had been the most beautiful wedding she had ever attended, and she wasn’t just saying that because it was her daughter’s, I had to echo that sentiment. It was beautiful in so many different aspects. First, the location. If you haven’t heard of Minister’s […]
I remember sitting at the Crow’s Nest barbershop when I got a message from a photographer friend, Danique Rowsell, who said, “hey check out this place thats opening up. I think you’d like it.” It was Mark’s new barber shop, Sailor Bup’s that he was opening on Argyle Street in Halifax. The irony was that […]
I wasn’t kidding yesterday when I said we’re hell bent on changing the way family photography is done. The question we’ve been getting since yesterday is, “How does a shoot work?”. So I dug up some behind the scenes video from a shoot we did last winter to give you an idea of what happened […]
Happy Valentines Day.
I’m sure everyone gets dressed up a little for photo shoots but putting on your wedding dress and and your wedding suit is about as dressed up as you can get. Fearless bridal, trash the dress, rock the dress…call it whatever you want, it’s one of my favourite things to shoot.
Kate’s friend had contacted me about a gift certificate for her to do a boudoir collection. A few months passed and I got an email from Kate asking if we could do a maternity shoot instead. Congrats to you both. Good luck in Ottawa!
Hoops (as we now affectionately call her) said she wanted to do a boudoir shoot or something like it. We had some rooftop access over looking all of Halifax and the rain held off just long enough to get outside and shoot for 10 minutes.
