I hate that I’ve finally started running again on January 2nd. It has nothing to do with new year’s resolutions and everything to do with the fact that Marse is running again. We don’t always race side by side but we always trained together whenever we could. We’d run for hours and sometimes not say a word for most of it. We’re every single couple you’ve ever seen on the Amazing Race. We’re the sweet elderly couple, married for 25 years and so very supportive. We’re also the cocky newlyweds and the bitchy cheerleaders. We scream and yell like the 2 year old we left behind with Nonna over one simple thing. Speed. But I love every step we’ve taken and I’m glad we’re back at it. Since running season and wedding season coincide I don’t get to run races (or sell merch) much but we’re trying to convince the only other Runalicious owner to finally run a marathon somewhere hot in 2011. This has nothing to do with Julie + Steve but we went for a run tonight and it was my favorite 26 minutes of 2011 so far.
Speaking of health and fitness…I’m standing in the kitchen about a year and a half ago and I see this couple on Live at 5 talking about how they got fit and really changed their lives. They were doing kettlebell exercises and they showed the before and after images and I was blown away. I thought it was really cool that this couple took on this task together and totally made it work. A few months later I’m sitting in the studio with Julie + Steve and come to find it out this is ‘Julie + Steve’ from Live at 5. Julie quit whatever job she had and now trains full time as Julie Mac Fitness and now I take kettlebell from her (ok I did and I will again soon). How crazy is that?
They got married 10.10.10 and we got to photograph it. Steph and I had a blast shooting this wedding all over the streets of downtown Halifax under some sweet fall light.
