Five, Four, Three, Two, One. KISS.

Brad and Mike had a job to do at Sarah + Tyler’s wedding on New Year’s Eve at Pier 21. At midnight, their job was to fire off the confetti guns. Now confetti guns alone are normally enough to get me excited at a wedding reception. Steph and I talked about ‘the shot’ all night...

Marcella Treybig - I just became obsessed with you.

Leslie - Busted! For the record we kissed as wished each other Happy New Year, and THEN texted the kids. Love it Liam, only you would get this shot!!

Jeff Harper - Awesome confetti shot Liam! We (The Chronicle Herald) should have been covering this instead of Grand Parade!

Nice moment….

Sue Levy (MOTB) - Love, love, love THESE PICTURES and am excitedly waiting to see the rest! Thank you Liam and Steph!!!!!

Cathy McAvou - BEAUTIFUL…leaves me anxious to see more……I assume the couple with the phones are texting “Happy New Year” to each other LOL. I wonder if they also texted the kiss……kidding…… it is a great shot, like all that I have seen here. CANNOT WAIT TO SEE MORE!!!!

The Creative Genius. Ole!

I don’t read many self help books and I’ve never seen ‘The Secret’. I don’t sit at home in the office and hope or wish or pray that good things will come my way. I don’t preach or try to convert anyone into any of the crazy things I believe in but this, this 18...

Wendy McE - Thanks for sharing this Liam, it was fantastic.

You had 2 hours, now you’ve got 20 minutes. Go. Halifax Wedding Photographer

“Where are we going for photos?” Its a question I get on almost every wedding day and one I almost always answer with, “I don’t know, where would you like to go?” While almost every wedding blog will be filled with wonderful comments about how lovely the wedding day was and how nice it was...

Billie Chiasson - In regards to the “I’m a photographer I can shoot anywhere statement”. It is VERY true that if you are skilled you CAN shoot in any setting, bright sunlight does not mean the camera will decide. “AHHH SUNNNN, frig that, I’m done”. However, that being said, as a photographer it is also our responsibility to ensure that the light in the photographs will be as equally beautiful as our clients. So when we say “let’s shoot in the shade”, it’s LITERALLY because you will get farrrr more beautiful photographs in the shade then you would in direct sunlight any day. Or if it is suggested to shoot at night or in evening, your photographer is doing it because they CARE about the quality of the light in the photographs. When it comes down to it, we want you to be beautiful!!

Heather Crosby Gionet - ok i know that you don’t like being part of the crowd, but funny while I was away on vacation I was thinking I need NEED to do a post about couples and how they can maximize their photography time by well…doing all the things you mentioned!

Allie - Stunning! These photos literally gave me goosebumps!

cheryl - so well said. so much to say, but this time I wont

layton - well said, boss.

Emma Rose - You know what Liam, I was thinking some of these VERY thoughts as I drove home from my last wedding… that if the photographer’s time gets cut due to other priorities– then expectations of posed photos MUST change, and clients should be prepared for that by us before the wedding, and time of day should be considered by the couple in the beginning stages of planning, along with location– and for the love of God do not pick a flower bed for a photo location or I will be shooting close crops the entire time just to avoid the flowers! Well stated and love the photos :)

Big L - Proud of you for this! This should be a mandatory read for all new clients.
And, as always, the photos are stunning.

How to prepare for a wedding.

Amanda + Tony got married at the Inverary Inn in Baddeck over the weekend and the forecast said hot and sunny. Amanda told me they were going for an 8.30am run and Tony was teeing off at 9am so Steph and I jumped at the chance to get outside and do some early morning shooting....

Meaghan + Justin

The Oceanstone Woodpile and a Break in the Rain

Sometimes the rain lets up for a few minutes at just the right time and after you’ve shot a couple levitating in a city park, kissing under an umbrella just won’t do. Pin it

Emily + Chris. The Last Look of Disappointment.

This is an image I will never forget. Shooting this image was a rush for me because I was shooting in a place and time that I felt that I shouldn’t be shooting in. Emily wanted to get married outside and there was no other option for her. The rain started and it didn’t stop....

I walked into the Marriott hotel on Saturday for Blair and Sarah’s wedding and said what I always say to Steph, “Wanna light it up?” She always does. We tried some things that didnt work, a few more things that didn’t work and I was about done with trying. Luckily Steph chirped at me and...

Bittersweet Victory

I spend a lot of time looking at photos. Mine, yours, strangers, leaders, followers…I look at them all. For as much as I love creating editorial/fashion/whateverlabelyouwanttoapply type images I also love seeing images that tell you a story. I suppose its the perfect mix for wedding photography with the latter being much more of a...

there’s something about a Cape Breton wedding…

I don’t know what it is about Cape Breton weddings but there’s something intangible that just brings them to a whole different level for me. It’s impossible to describe but there’s no mistaking it every time I get to shoot there. Pin it

Arms Raised in a V. A Pictou County Rainy Day Wedding

Aside from shooting in wet socks and shoes, I love everything about rainy weddings. It brings everyone closer together and the peaks and troughs of emotion are elevated to a whole new level. It’s aways a tradeoff. You get rain, but you also get this incredible light during and after the rain…and sometimes you get...

Vicky M - Well, Vicky always says to herself when she sees Liam walk in the door with his camera, it’s an “Applehead” wedding!! The photos are gonna be amazing! You always outdo yourself. She truly is beautiful and the wedding was exquisite and looked like a blast. Kudos to Avril on the decor, I LOVE it!

Josh Gooden - Fantastic images, especially the ones in the foggy street! It was great working with you.

Leslie - Love it!!! My fav part, you ask?? Her shoes of course – LOL ;-)

Joann Durdle - LOVE IT ALL;) Magda and Robert you guys ROCK;) Had sooooo much fun, but I really need to stop making faces when I dance…lol Great job Liam.

J LeFrense - I love the multiple versions of each scene. I have been telling some photographers for a while now, that if you want to show more of the story behind each wedding give the viewer more looks at parts of the wedding you feel is important. I feel like I was at this wedding and I don’t think I would have gotten the same feeling from just one image of the reception.Bravo great work brother.

Arleigh - Magda + Berger you guys look awesome. Your wedding was incredible and so so much fun. I’d say it was the second best wedding of the year :) Liam and Steph- fantastic as always!

Erin Woodgate - Looks like an amazingly fun wedding! So many great shots showing everyones personality!
